Security

Without PayPal's IPN system, your PayPal buttons are susceptible to being tampered with. A sneaky potential member can tamper with the amount paid for your membership, possibly getting it for FREE! Or they could easily tamper with the "business" value in your PayPal Button and effectively pay themselves for your membership!

EZ-IPN SM will only accept input from PayPal, trying to access EZ-IPN SM by typing the address to the script into your browser will cause PayPal to post a "invalid error" back to EZ-IPN SM and display a warning screen in the browser. EZ-IPN SM works behind the scenes, which means the customer does not use the script or for that matter won't even know it's in use.

Once EZ-IPN SM has verified receiving a post from PayPal, it will perform several security checks to insure you receive payment and in the correct amount. PayPal allows you to setup three different membership plans, including two trial periods. EZ-IPN SM checks these values against your defined values. There are three time periods and three amounts. EZ-IPN SM checks all six of these values against the values you define. Unless all six match EZ-IPN SM will not write to your password file. It also verifies the payment is being made to the PayPal email account you define. These checks stop someone from hijacking your payment button and receiving the payments or stealing a membership.

How It Works

Once you have installed EZ-IPN Subscription Manager on your site, you will have a password protected directory. Everything you place inside the directory will be protected.

The customer clicks your membership subscription link and they are taken to PayPal to sign up for a membership to your site.
Once they have successfully completed the payment, PayPal will issue them a user name and password to use to login to your membership area.
PayPal instantly sends their payment information to EZ-IPN Subscription Manager on your site.
When EZ-IPN SM receives the information, it verifies the payment has been made to you. Once it has verified you have received payment in the correct amount, it then writes the user name and password supplied by PayPal to the password file on your site.
Your new customer can use their user name and password to login to your members area instantly.
If a member cancels their membership, PayPal will send a instant notification to EZ-IPN SM and their user name and password will be delete from your site, stopping them from accessing your members area instantly.

Easy Installation

Simply upload the files included in the script to the main directory of your site and call up the setup script in your browser. Use the setup script to create a password protected directory and add a table to your database. (A database is required before the table can be created.) Once your directory is created, html code for join button will be displayed for you to copy and use. That's it, new members can now join your site and receive instant access, while your money is automatically added to your PayPal account.
